Buitenschoolse opdrachten

Er kwamen de laatste dagen verschillende opdrachten binnengerold. Heerlijk :) Het geeft me altijd zo een voldoening om echte opdrachten vast te krijgen en uit te voeren. Dus tussen mijn examen door nam ik af en toe mijn schetsboek ter hand en begon ik met volle goesting aan deze buitenschoolse activiteiten. 

The last couple of days I had several assignments outside of school. I love it :) It gives me such a satisfaction to do assignments outside of the normal schoolwork. So between my exams i took my sketchbook and worked on these assignments. 

De eerste opdracht was er één voor een logo ontwerp van een tweedehands autohandelaar. Het moest er classy uitzien. Daarbij een typografisch logo. Iets dat ik nog niet ondernomen had maar wat ik zeker eens wou proberen omdat ik denk dat ik wel met lettervormen om kan gaan. Dus er werd geschetst en voorgelegd en besproken.

The first assignment was one for a logo design for a secondhand cardealer. It had to be a typographic and classy logo. Something i hadn't done before but really wanted to try because i had a feeling i can work with those lettershapes pretty well.

Op het einde zag mijn werkblad in illustrator er zo uit. Kleine aanpassingen, bespreken, knippen plakken en eorp verder werken. Ohja er zit een logica in het verhaal, in het vervolg moet ik er wat meer structuur in brengen zodat ik niets kwijt geraak of gewoon dubbel werk verricht door stommiteit.

In the end this was my worksheet in illustrator. Little details to change, copying and pasting. discussing and moving on. There is some logic to it. But next time i have to make it a little bit more organised. 

Dit is het eindresultaat. Ik ben redelijk tevreden met het resultaat.

This is the final result. I am pretty pleased with it. 

Een andere opdracht was een schetsontwerp voor een cd-cover. Het samenbrengen van ideen bracht ons tot dit. De bandleden als skeletten in het zottenkot. 

A different assignment was a sketsdesign for a cdcover. The collab with them made this idea. The bandmembers as a skeleton in a nuthouse. 

Een derde opdracht was om een portret te schilderen. Ik moet er nog steeds één maken in potlood. Was best wel leuk om nog eens zo een technische opdracht te doen. Gewoon uitvoeren.

And a thirth assignment was to paint a portrait. I still need to do an other in pencil before thursday. It was fun to make a  portrait like this again. It has been a long time.

The Catgame

Het is eindelijk af. Dat kattenspel van het afgelopen jaar. Ik kan je nu voorstellen aan (in volgorde) Jeroen, Cara, Tammy en Amir.

It is finished. The catgame. a schoolassignment from the past year. I can introduce to you the pawns of the game (in order) Jeroen, Cara, Tammy and Amir.

   

In het spel zaten 5 kaarten met vervoersmiddelen op. (en de achterkant van de kaart)

Uiteraard moesten er ook weer modelsheets getekent worden. Dit is Juul trouwens, de slechterik van het spel. 

Offcourse there was also need for some modelsheets. This is Juul, the badguy from the game.

En het spelbord zelf met de 5 plaatsen in het spel. Ik koos ervoor om een vlaamsdorpsspel te maken met dus Juul de plaatselijke duivenmelker als slechterik.

En de winnaar van het spel is diegene die 5 katten heeft verzameld voor de andere. Daarom dus de kattenkaarten.

And the winner of the game is the one who has 5 cats before the others do. That is why there are also catcards.

Stillville, het patroon

Wat ik nog vergeten ben, voor de stillvillecomic moest er ook een binnekant van de kaft gemaakt worden. Vorig jaar was er een patroon gemaakt met de hoofdjes van iedereen zijn personages. Ik stelde meteen voor om het patroon in elkaar te steken want ik blijf (en ben ik blij om) een zwak hebben voor patronen. Dus alle hoofdjes werden bij mekaar gezwierd en gepuzzeld.

What i forgot about the stillville comicbook. The inside of the cover. I made it! Last year they made a pattern with the heads off all of the charachters. This time I made the pattern. Because I still love making patterns. So all of the heads of mine charachter and my classmates charachters were put togheter and i could started puzzling. 

Stillville: Narnia finished!

Voila se! mijn eerste poging tot een strip/comic. ik ben er best tevreden mee. Hier en daar zitten nog dingetjes die ik inderdaad zou veranderen maar daar is spijtig genoeg geen tijd meer voor. Zoals mijn kleurschema in de buitenscenes. Of bepaalde figuren die er af en toe meer heel stijfjes uitzien. Maar ik moet knopen doorhakken en bij deze is dit project afgerond en kan ik aan de volgende beginnen die klaar moet zijn voor de jury. 

Here it is! My first try to make a comic. I am pretty pleased with it. Yes, there are still some mistakes that i would do diffrent. If i had the time and i don't so they have to stay. Like the colours for the outdoorscene's or some figures who move very strange. But! i need to keep an eye on the time i still have and the work i still need to do before the jury. 

Op het einde moet ik zeggen dat het best wel leuk was om te maken, het zal zeker niet de laatste keer zijn dat ik een strip maakte.

In the end, it was something nice to do. It won't be the last time for me to make a comic. 

Comic: Mijn Narnia

Ik ben nog steeds hard aan het werk aan de 4 pagina lange comic voor school. Vandaag was ik klaar met alles uit te tekenen. Ik heb ook het merendeel al kunnen inkten maar moet nog 1 pagina doen. ik doe alles met penseel en chineese inkt. mijn hand doet vreselijk pijn van 3 uur inkten. Maar als het klaar is, dan kan ik starten met het inkleuren. 

I am still working hard on the 4page comic for school. Today i finished drawing the 4 pages and the cover. I also put a lot in ink but still need to do 1 more page. I do it in chinese ink and with a brush. My hand is real hurting from puting the drawings in ink for the last 3 hours. But when that is finished i can start colouring.

Pattern: Airplay

Weer een andere schoolopdracht. Deze keer was het aan ons om te beslissen wat we gingen doen. het enige dat vastlag was dat het een soort van illustratie moest zijn rond het thema Airplay.  Het moest in zwart wit zijn en op maat van een comic namelijk 17x26 (een spread  van 35x26)

Ik nam deze kans om nog eens een patroon te ontwerpen. Ik werkte rond de fantasie van kinderen  want zei kunnen echt met lucht spelen. Ze verzinnen hun verhalen. Zo nemen ze bijvoorbeeld een kartonnen doos en doen  alsof het een huis, auto of ruimteschip is. 

An other schoolassignment. This time it was really up to us what we could do. The only thing we needed to have was an illustration or something with the theme AIRPLAY. It had to be in black and white and on the size of 17x26 (as a spread 35x26) 

I took this opportunity to make an other pattern. And about the fantasy from children. Because they can play with air. They make up things.  Like taking a cardboard box and pretend it is a house, car or a spaceship.
